This cafe offers a delightful dining experience with high-quality food. The dishes served are a testament to their commitment to good food, with flavors that impress and satisfy.
However, the dining area is quite limited. The cafe accommodates only five small twin-sharing tables, providing seating for about 10-12 people. This cramped space can make the experience a bit less comfortable, especially during peak hours.
Interestingly, I’ve heard that Old Hands Cafeteria has another branch near Nova Saujana. This location supposedly offers a more extensive menu, along with a larger and more comfortable dining area. It’s definitely on my list for a future visit.
Despite the space constraints, I look forward to returning to Old Hands Cafeteria and exploring more of their menu at their new branch. The quality of the food makes it worth a revisit.
Delicious! The taiyaki is nice but I love the smoke sausage croissant more! It’s still crunchy! Package is also perfect! 5 stars!
Came here on a weekend for breakfast. There are only like 3 tables inside so maybe people come here mostly to take away and grab orders coming in non-stop. Staffs are friendly.
We ate the red bean sandwich, strawberry jam sandwich and egg sandwich. I’m rating it a 9/10, they are not holding back on the quantity of fillings. All prepared together with a thick piece of butter and they were all very good, surprisingly. We ordered long black which was alright, nothing outstanding, rating it 6.5/10. We also tried their signature strawberry milk, very refreshing and delicious, signature indeed – 9.5/10. Bought the red bean mochi to takeaway and it was good too! Not too sweet at all but a bit monotone to eat all three at one go, one or two bites are perfect – 7/10
The location a bit weird and would definitely come here again if I live nearby but I don’t. Nevertheless, it was a pleasant visit
Finally got to go try this place out.
The cafe has a rather small dining space; thank you their staff Yuki whom reserved a table for us 👍🏼 She was friendly and courteous. Worth a mention was Jahed; he liased with me also on What’s App a day before when I had questions n he was polite and courteous too.
We had the:
– Anko Butter Red Bean Bun
– Mentai Smoked Sausage Bun
– 鯛焼きサンド Taiyaki Sandwich
– お好み焼き Kanifumi Okonomiyaki
– プリン Japanese Custard Pudding
– Signature Watermelon Milk
Takeaway:
– Yam daifuku
– Strawberry daifuku
All items were made to order so they were warm and fresh. A personal fave was the okonimiyaki- it was fluffy and the filling was just 💯: loved it! Their signature watermelon milk was good too 👍🏼
Took away some daifukus and they are one of the better daifukus I have had so far; the mochi layer was soft and overall not to sweet.
Overall a satisfying meal and we will be back again to try their other dishes on the menu.
Revisit the place after the cafeteria fused back with the kitchen area. The place is only able to accommodate around 4 tables now due to limited space.
The menu is refreshed and some of the price hike up which is still understandable.
⭐⭐⭐ Anko🫘 / Anko Mochi / 74% Choco🍫 / Cream Cheese🧀 Tayaki🐟 RM9-RM10 :
The filling portion and taste differs a lot everytime I visit which is a big issue. Personally prefers cream cheese.
Also the claimed 74% choco is too sweet which should be 30-40% choco instead.
⭐⭐ Matcha latte/ Hojicha latte/ Genmaicha latte (hot) RM15 (+RM3 for Anko🫘) :
Doesn’t contain sugar by default but doesn’t contain the ‘wow’ factor as well. My favourite is Genmaicha latte (I’m a 🍵 enthusiast)
⭐⭐ Yuzu Burnt Cheesecake 🍋🍰RM32 :
Can taste that it’s made from real Yuzu peel but still doesn’t justify the price.
⭐⭐ Anko Butter Bun 🫘🧈🌭RM8.5 > ~RM11:
It’s a good bun but still it’s too tiny for the price.
⭐⭐ Taro Mochi 🍡 (2 pcs) RM20:
Nice mochi skin with non oversweet taro paste but overpriced too.
❌ Unagi pizza 🍕 RM38 :
~ 4 inch pizza which we thought there will be one slice of unagi due to the price. However there’s only 1.5 slice of chopped unagi in each slice 🍕 (total 4 slices)☠️☠️
Really hoping that it will improve because it was used to be my favourite hangout spot in PJ.
