Went for birthday celebration. Restaurant easy to locate, place with ample of parkings. Ordered set menu for 2 pax. Portion size of set was good to share among 2, we only able to down 1/2 of the suckling pig & take away the remaining. Overall a good experience. Very attentive and friendly in service. Reasonable pricing. Plate breaking was a fun experience. Foods overall were good.
The food at this restaurant is quite good overall, though I personally found the pasta to be more enjoyable than the meats. The sausages and the signature pork dish were alright, but the pasta really stood out to me in terms of flavor. One thing that was quite fun and unique was the way they serve the pork—using plates to cut it. It was an interactive experience and probably part of their cultural style, which added a nice touch to the meal.
We also ordered beers to go along with the meal, which made the dining experience more enjoyable. However, this restaurant leans toward the higher end when it comes to pricing. We booked a private room for our group, and the minimum spend for that was about RM2700. While the food was great, we definitely over-ordered and couldn’t finish everything. The portions were quite large, so we ended up packing the leftover pork to take away.
When it comes to service, I’d say it was just average. The staff were polite and efficient, but there wasn’t anything particularly special or memorable about it. It felt a bit standard, without the extra touch that you might expect from a restaurant in this price range. While the food and atmosphere were enjoyable, the service didn’t really enhance the experience in any way.
5 stars is not enough to describe the restaurant. The suckling pig is crunchy with skin but juicy inside. The herb is not overpowering yet really brings out the best of the piglet. The lime vodka to wash away the geeseness is definitely a small act but great act. Love it!
The cheesecake is one of the best I had with so creamy texture.
The service personnel especially the lady waitress, Cho, is friendly and ever attentive.
The atmosphere is so chill and comfortable.
Looking forward to come back to order other food.
Definitely place to come celebrate special day.
We have had a great dining experience in El Cerdo Changkat years ago, therefore, we were very much looking forward to visiting the new branch in TTDI. We had a high expectation about the suckling pig… ended up with such huge disappointment! 😢 It’s GROSS, there’s a kinda unpleasant odour (which was very strong!!) that even the sauce/gravy couldn’t help to get rid of! Well, the sauce doesn’t taste good anyway. It was bland in fact! Besides, the skin wasn’t crispy at all — it was chewy and soggy. What a let down! We were literally disgusted by the smell of the suckling pig that our tummy rejected all following dishes that we have ordered! What a shame. 😪Thankfully, the Yee Sang which came first tasted pretty good! The caesar salad and the dessert were just slightly above average …
Bet this would be our first and last visit here. Period.
I had a great time during dinner with my friends (9 pax in total). The food was authentic and delicious. We ordered a variety of dishes and everything tasted good. I guess you can’t miss the infamous roast piglet which was their main seller. Every table has a designated server, ours was Kai Ting, she was helpful and friendly. Total bill came up to RM1.5k. In my opinion, I think it is reasonable and fair.
I also received a complimentary birthday cake as it is my birthday month.
As for the atmosphere, it was good but it may be a little noisy because the guests can cut the roast piglet with a plate where they have to break the plates thereafter. But it was still bearable for us. No issues.
