Perfect for dining in huge groups. Great food and good service. On the pricier side of course because seafood.
*Only thing to note is that we were recommended a fish without much transparency on the price, so ended up paying 322 for 1 fish.
Came here with a group of friends for dinner, we ordered a variety of dishes with recommendations from the staff, which is helpful. The food portion is good and all the dishes we had was tasty. The crab we ordered were very fresh with such an appetizing sauce, the fried mantou goes perfectly with it, it’s a must try.
Lala Chong… I first visited this very location about 20 years ago.. And it is still doing good… Now it has 3 locations in Klang Valley
I visited the Sunway shop in last month… More on the Sunway shop later
Let’s go back to the original first lala Chong
The crowd was full when I visited, I hv booked in advance but the table availability still depends on the current situation, meaning you many not have a table when u arrive at your appt time.. So pandai2 ya
The lala here was great, we had a kind of soup lala with a tinge of wine… It was wonderful… Brought me back to my earlier visits
The pak so kong fish was huge, too big for our party, need to be exact when placing order for the fishes, state your portion, set me back by rm150
Then we had normal tofu, and fried kang kung
We also had salted egg sotong.. But it was just normal.. Smaller portion than expected
This lala Chong caters for groups, I saw 5 busses of school kids accompanied by teachers here
I also noticed there were 3 tables of Malay patrons… Yes… This place is pork and lard free
Lsstly I recognised the lady boss siting at the table beside the cashier… Added some ounces… Still pretty as before
Overall, come visit the original lala Chong
Clean environment, prompt service, doesn’t take long for food to arrive (came around 6:15pm). Overall is okay. Food is okay la. Depends on what you order, the price is on the higher end. You’ll need rice…
The shop comes with plenty parking lot which is a good point. No aircon for the downstairs dining area, could be quite hot for recent hot weather. We try the Signature Lala soup, Butter Milk Crab, Siakap Nyonya, Gong Pou Mantis Prawn, Salted Prawn Ball, Tohu and Fried long bean. Overall taste is ok , a bit disappointed on the fish and crab as the taste not so nice. The fried bun (mantou) is crunchy must try. Total bill for 9pax is RM886
