We visited this restaurant and had to wait almost 40 minutes without anyone taking our order, even after calling the staff directly. The service was incredibly frustrating. When we asked a waiter to take our order, they simply said they couldn’t because they were handling another table.
Customers deserve respect and proper service. The staff should not be rude to customers. To the restaurant owner: please hire more staff to ensure smoother operations, and train them to be more attentive and respectful to customers.
I’ve been to this place before and the food is always amazing, but unfortunately, this time was a big disappointment. We waited forever to be seated and even longer for someone to acknowledge us. After some time, we ended up grabbing our own menus because no one seemed to be around. While I understand the challenges of being understaffed, the service was extremely rude, and the staff seemed completely disinterested in providing any sort of hospitality. It’s really unfortunate because the food is still top-notch, but customer service is just as important. I hope they address this issue, as it really takes away from the experience. Wouldn’t be rushing back unless there’s improvement.
A good place for authentic Indian food in KL. We have come here over the decades and the food quality remains the same with friendly service. There’s a wide variety of food choices and service is efficient. A Popular place for breakfast, so be prepared to wait for table service and withstand the chatter noise. Street parking is free but limited.
Roti Canai, Thosai, Uttappam, Poori, Appam are all good. They are still served on banana leaves today. I especially love their Masala tea and Lassi.
Came back here after 2 years, nothing changed. Thosai n roti still good but service still as bad. Each time after food here will spoil my day. Will try not to come back this time until after 3 years.
The place is clearly understaffed, and the wait team seems overworked. Service is painfully slow, and it’s even more frustrating when you’ve got to keep waving down the waitstaff, only to see other tables doing the same. This was during peak hour (7 PM), and the exhaustion on the waitstaff’s faces said it all. In the 60 minutes we were there, at least one group gave up and left due to the long wait.
The food has taken a hit too. Fried items like this batura were extra brown, probably because the kitchen is just as overworked and understaffed as the front.
While I understand the pressure during peak hours, it’s very surprising to see Lotus struggle with the most basic necessity of ensuring us patrons have a good diners experience. Will not be returning here until friends or family say there’s an improvement.
