The ramen was overall good.
The black garlic ramen is a bit too salty for me, and the original soup is just right
But the portion of the meat and seaweed is very generous
Look at the huge piece of seaweed
The fried karage chicken is also succulent and fragrant, highly recommended
This delicious ramen shop is situated at the first floor. Walk up and you’ll walk into a new shop. The interior is so cosy and felt fresh. Not forgeting the cooling air surrounds you the moment you enter the shop.
They have limited food on their menu but this shows their specialty on focusing on a few dishes.
Try their tonkatsu ramen. Their broth will wow you. Together with the spring onion, it’ll level up the noodles and broth in your mouth. Their free appetiser – tauge is nice to try. Their chicken karaage is cripsy and when biting it, I feel like it’s the kind of original chicken karaage without much seasoning during the oldern days.
Almost the end of the delicious meal, their friendly staffs will serve you a quarter of sweet white corn. It’s hot and soooo sweetttt. It’s on the house. Too bad I cant ask for more.
Definitely I’ll return to this ramen shop in SS2, PJ area when I had a chance
Visited Nichiya Ramen in SS2 recently. The shop itself is simple and unpretentious. We tried the Tonkotsu Ramen with Ajitamago and the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen with All Toppings. The broth in both was rich and flavorful. The noodles were perfectly cooked, quite springy for me. The Ajitamago was beautifully done!! Thumbs up!👍🏻 The best part is the Char Siew.
It was super soft, which like it directly melt-in-your-mouth. For sides, we had the Tori-Karaage, and it was a surprising highlight. The chicken was crispy on the outside yet juicy and tender inside.
Will come back for the ramen and tofu!
Bout the ramen, broth is alright, not too light and not too heavy (like other closer by ramen places). Noodles are springy and egg is cooked well.
Agedashi tofu is good, tofu is soft silky and the sauce is tasty.
Gyoza is okay, relatively gingery though nothing to rave about
Takoyaki is meh, at least the one we got this time seems like it’s 80% batter and 1 very small slice of squid
Considered going tonight bcos of the raving reviews but it was just so-so. Those who said yummy may not have tried other ramens in pj or damansara.
We had a bowl of ramen – the broth tasted porky & the meat wasn’t flavourful. We also had their grilled unagi rice & it was mushy blend.
Not sure what’s the hype.
