Had lunch here but we decided against the typical Japanese fare. For starters we had the Deep Fried Camembert cheese. Then we chose a pizza which was thin and crispy. Finally we ordered a special ramen which was very tasty. Food was great, the service was good and the small restaurant was not packed which was good. Overall a good experience.
Dine in around 3/4pm on Sunday, luckily no queue, dining period is set for two hours for everyone. The matcha latte is so-so, the matcha is still powdery haven’t fully dissolved. Lemon cake is nice, tiramisu not bad. Burnt cheesecake is just the sponge cake with cheese flavor, not the real cheesecake, big no. The atmosphere is comfortable and nice. Parking is limited here. Overall ok.
A Hidden Japanese Gem at Empire Damansara
I’ve been to Nippori Café many times, and it remains one of my favorite hidden gems. Tucked away on the 1st floor with partially covered rooftops of Empire Damansara, it takes a bit of effort to find, but it’s absolutely worth it.
Owned by Japanese proprietors, the flavors here are authentic and well-executed. One of their signatures is the sun-dried Saba, which you might spot drying in the sun on certain days. The thick-cut salmon trout is excellent, and their Natto Don is a must-try for those who enjoy this Japanese delicacy. Karaage chicken is delicious too. There are plenty of delicious options on the menu, and for dessert lovers, I highly recommend ending your meal with their Burnt Cheesecake and Tiramisu—both are fantastic!
Tips:
• Table reservation is highly recommended. Be sure to ask for the name of the staff taking your booking over the phone, as reservations have been misplaced before.
• If it’s raining, bring an umbrella. The walk from certain entrances has a partially covered canopy, but you might still get wet. In heavy rain, an umbrella is a must.
If you love authentic Japanese flavors in a cozy setting, this place is definitely worth seeking out!
Brought myself here after a long day at the saloon, the place is cozy and empty, underrated gem tbh. The place is on the 1st floor quite tricky for first timer to find.

Located at the first floor of Empire Damansara. Em… Quite hard to locate the restaurant during my visit. 😂 Not so secure during nights time as dark by alone (not much light on during the walk area toward the restaurant).
Foods taste are quite nice.
Provide standard Service, nothing to talk about.
