I was looking for a quick lunch before the afternoon rain pouring down at SS2. So, a friend recommended this place.
We ordered 2 set meals and a main dish.
Omelette set meals came with acar and kapitan gravy and steam rice. The set meals came about 8 minutes apart. In between, sambal Petai Prawn was served.
Omelette set meals: steam rice was lukewarm. Kapitan gravy was cold.
Omelette is good.
Sambal petai prawn was not as I expected. It was a little sweet with tomato sauce. Prawns were not deveined and not cleaned as part of prawn head and legs were in the mix. Prawns were big. For small main dish, it comes with 4 prawns. Petai was generous.
Service is average. Table manners has room for improvements.
Atmosphere is quaint and old. It has its charm. But, restroom was not in working order. Can’t flush toilet.
Delicious Chinese foods with affordable price. If you come here during lunch time need to wait around 15 mins for your foods to be serve. We’ve try set A ( 3-4 person) for lunch and it’s so yummy. It’s rice with Marmite Chicken, Crabmeat bean curd, prawn with unique taste, nyonya Brinjal.
We ordered Set B CNY meal for 10pax for RM588nett – comes with free flow Chinese tea! Super value set and their food is surprisingly good! Love the combination of the set. My family absolutely enjoyed the meal.
Their best dish to me is the fried bean sprout with salted fish. Balanced in salty taste and the crunchy fresh bean sprout. Also like their Curry Kapitan, Assam Fish and Cendol.
Service is great, very attentive and prompt.
The interior was decent and rustic. Abit old the edges but absolutely clean, tidy and hygiene. The furniture are decent and well blended into the interior theme. NOW off to the food! The fried rice is a must try! Nyonya fried rice had a very consistent flavor in mild savoury mango fine slices with mild spiciness. The rice was cooked just right and a mouthfull makes you go yummy, typical season Nyonya Melaka taste bud. The fish was average with a soothing steam cooked method. If your looking for sea fresh or super fresh, please don’t expect high end 5 star food. Nevertheless, the fish was tasty and we like it. The soup stirred up your appetite for more rice. The signature chicken baked in covered foiled with home made sauce was to die for. The first bite was tremendous great, that sweet tasty and aroma to the bud was delicious. Last but not least, the Nyonya cendol with separated gula Melaka, a definately must eat. Super Fine shaved ice (liken to Snowy ice… sort of) with mild sweetness, not over sweet. The flavor fits old folks who fancy not too sweet for their health. Overall marvelous. The price wise average and acceptable for average dinners, we had the basic rm75, plus other add-on dishes, which sums up to rm140 something. If your group does heavy meals, try their larger package deals! KEEP IT UP MALACCA FOOD in Petaling Jaya. Almost authentic MALACCA Nyonya food, similar to MALACCA restaurants, suitable for young and old.
Came here for lunch. Ordered King Noodle and Curry Mee. Both are quite spicy but was OK for me. They tasted quite good. Ordered coffee and it was OK. Staff service is OK. Places was quite old and looks quite dark due to yellow lighting. But it was quite clean. Prices are average.
