A hidden gem for authentic Indian cuisine in SS3 neighbourhood. The friendly daughter-in-law and owner add warmth to the self-service experience. Lunchtime is extremely crowded and it started around 11am-ish. They run out of items fast despite the many varieties available. The prices are very affordable.

The funny part? Diners, including us, tend to take huge portions, but the food is so delicious that everyone finishes every bite. Plus, it’s one of the best choices as Pandian uses very little or no MSG, so you won’t feel thirsty compared to other famous banana leaf place in Seksyen 17. It’s definitely worth the visit!

Food is arguably very delicious. You don’t taste too much of the oiliness and msg. All the dishes that I packed were awesome.

Their service isn’t bad either. They are usually busy & packed with customers but they try to attend to you as quickly as they can.

Seating is as expected, a bit uncomfortable because its a food court stretch so they share tables with other shops as well. Nevertheless if you choose to eat there there definitely is place to seat.

    Will definitely return again.

    Can pay QR also.

    Atmosphere: 1/5
The space is uncomfortably hot, with very limited seating, which makes it challenging to enjoy the meal experience.

    Service: 1/5
The service here is among the most disorganized I’ve experienced. Staff aren’t clearly identifiable, and there’s no system in place for seating, ordering, or paying. Here’s a quick guide to navigating the process:

    1. First, secure a table in the shop itself, avoiding open stalls, as they aren’t seating-friendly.
    2. Next, head inside to get your rice from the station near the drink counter on the right and place your drink order.
    3. Then, serve yourself from the available dishes, but be mindful not to take too many varieties, as prices increase quickly with more selections.
    4. For payment, find the lady with glasses or inquire at the shop counter. You can pay before or after your meal, but it can be a confusing process.

    Food: 2/5
There’s a decent range of options, including mutton, chicken, vegetables, tosai, and roti canai, but the flavors are just acceptable, not exceptional.

On my second visit, I ordered rice with two vegetable sides, iced lime, and an egg—no meat—for RM10. Meanwhile, my friend’s meal of a small fish, vegetables, and rice was RM12.

    Price: 1/5
Prices are extremely high for what’s offered, especially considering the basic quality and portions.

    Parking: 1/5
Parking can be difficult to find, especially around noon. Some opt to park in nearby residential areas.

    Will I Return?
I’m undecided. If I do return, I’ll keep my order minimal to avoid high costs. Overall, the location and experience don’t justify the pricing.

The dishes were not oily. Tasted nice . Am not sure if it’s the same as the one in the food court, but it has the same name.

Labour, rental , food, the pricing is about there. Not the more afforfable Indian Rice i have had.

    Food was RM30
    2vege+tofu+ fried chicken
    1 veg + tofu + Kurma Chicken
    Papadam and 2 ice water

It’s clean and cooling. The kakak was very helpful

Good and reasonably priced. A help yourself place and you pay by number of dishes, in case of vegetables, big or small portion same charge. Fish head curry is tenggiri and at RM8-10, a great price. Mutton curry cost more than fish or chicken dishes and tenderlicious. Big variety of dhal and lentils at no extra charge and pappadums too.
Breakfast got roti canai, capati, tosai and puree. Vadai and idlli also got. Crispy hot roti canai banjir is shiokalingam goooood.
    Update 04.10.22:
Victim of rising costs. Pandian standard meal of rice, 2 veg and 1meat now costs RM13. Wife had perut kambing curry and I had a fish. With teh tarik price was RM28. Still cheaper than some banana leaf rice places where price would have been about RM40 for same meals.
    Update 11.02.2024:
    Wow how prices have increased.
2 plain white rice plus 1 veg-sauteed cabbage
    =RM9
1 medium tenggiri fish head curry =RM12
    2 iced teas = RM5
    Total RM26.
No wonder less customers these days.

    Update 2nd Dec 2024.
Yikes, visit after 4mths and the prices have really gone up. Lunch of rice, 2veg and small piece curry fish tail of more bones than flesh -RM16…
