Had the weekday set, pho with australian beef brisket and slices. Its everything known vietnamese chains like Super Saigon and Pho Vietz want to be, whose quality depending on location will vary. The soup is hearty but light with a wonderful depth of flavour and is served at the proper temperature for you to slightly cook the beansprouts and basil so that they’re still crunchy but still retain the flavour. Beef was tender and the noodles were cooked well: still springy that you can bite through.
Weekday set served with two deep fried spring rolls (i ate one before I took picture). Some might find slightly oily and salty but was okay for me since it’s still a nice light crunch without being soggy either. Sweetness and spicyness of accompanying sauce gives nice contrast to cover oiliness. The spiced meat filling inside reminds me of the Chinese Five-spice meat roll so I liked it.
Interior is well-lit, warm-white lighting so not harsh but still bright. They play light jazz and also have plenty of electrical sockets if you want to stay and have a drink. A place I would go to regularly after work if I stayed nearer.
Pho set is about RM27 after tax.
Hi boss of Pho King, I hope you read my message here.
I placed order thru Grabfood this afternoon. When the food arrived, one of my food, the Lemongrass Skewer Platter is contaminated with fly egg.
This is definitely not a good experience when anyone receive their foods. As part of restaurant with strict SOP, you should enhance and maintain foods safety standard to your customers.
Although Grab platforms do not reveal specific actions taken against Pho King and proceed full refund, but as a customer, I have the right to make a complaint here.
5-Star Review for Pho King, SS2, Petaling Jaya
If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese food, Pho King in SS2, Petaling Jaya, is a must-visit spot. Hands down, their pho noodles are handmade and cooked to perfection. The broth is flavorful, rich, and tastes like hours of careful preparation, while the tender beef slices and meatballs complement it beautifully.
The ambiance here is casual and cozy—perfect for a quick lunch or dinner with friends. They even serve Vietnamese coffee (both iced and hot) that gives you the strong caffeine kick you’d expect from a traditional phin drip.
Service is excellent, with friendly staff ensuring you’re comfortable throughout your meal. Prices are also reasonable for the quality of food they serve.
If you’re a fan of pho, this place is pho-king great! Definitely deserving of 5 stars.
Delectable Vietnamese comfort food of Pho & Vietnamese crepe roll w minced pork. The weekday Set lunch of Pho is good value. Couple w 10% discount during the CNY periods, it is a good time to come here to fix ur craving for Vietnamese food. 😋
The soups is okay, acceptable but not authentic. The noodles in both bowls that we ordered are very tough, feel like they’re uncooked (I know it because I cook dried pho and rice noodles at home). The grilled pork spring roll is not bad but they put too much vinegar into the fish sauce, which overpower the overall taste.
The female staff is unfriendly. My bf accidentally spilt a bit soup on the table while tried to move the bowl to me. The staff saw it and just walked away with “annoyed” face. I understand that it’s our fault, but I just hope she will comeback with a towel to help us clean it but NO.
When we were waiting to pay, it’s supposed to be our turn but 1 woman just came after us but she stood next to the cashier (we stood in front of the cashier), the boss just took her table and checked for her… I don’t mind if she wants to cut the queue because I’ve seen so many Malaysians did that already so I don’t expect much. But as a boss, shouldn’t you check the one who came first?
No point to come back. Sorry
