I frequent here for good local food that’s quite affordable in a simple environment. It’s not a fancy establishment but fits the style of food served. Of the food, really tasty and full of flavour. Halal ingredients are used and no pork in the menu. Parking is also easy.

We tried this place for lunch and we were there early, so there was ample parking. This place specialises on fish noodles, with grouper fish farmed in Sabah and presumably flown over to KL.

The restaurant is cool and airy and the staff attentive and quick on their feet.

We ordered the classic fish head noodle and sabah assam fish noodle with grouper mix set. We also ordered a side dish of deep fried tofu.

Both the classic and assam fish head noodles came in quite good portions and the chunks of deep fried fish in separate plates. We like the stock soup of both classic and assam, which had plenty of umami, though personally I feel that the assam had more zing. While we ordered for the grouper mix parts, thinking that some parts of the fish are usually more favoured due to the perceived tenderness and sweetness, on hindsight, in the future, I would just go for the grouper fillet instead. This is because I find that some of the parts are not meaty enough and more dough than meat. Just a personal preference.

We found the tofu dish pretty average and would probably not order it again if we return.

Overall, we thought that the food was very palatable and worth the money. You can see how much each dish cost from the photos. We may return if the craving for fish returns. Wish they’d use Kunak chili instead of what was offered, just for more authentic Sabah taste.

It’s not my first time here But I find their quality not as good as before. I still remember their fried rice used to be good and the color used to be golden yellow not brown like this. The taste is not up to my expectation anymore. The size of the fish was a smaller cut too now. For the seafood tofu, we find that the taste of the egg overpower the seafood which is not up to my liking.

They specialise in sabah styled fish cooking. Menu has noodle, porridge, rice and many other local dishes. Mostly fish based. If you want to try something other than pork and chicken then this would be a good choice.

I tried the egg noodle with fish, not bad.

Didn’t order a great deal in my first visit here. But from the orders I can say that the egg oyster is nice and flavorful. Just enough crisp and moisture.
The fried rice also very flavorful. The fried fish fillet is fresh and have good texture.
Also had coconut to drink which topped of the meal…

Will come back again and review more
