The salad was a standout as it has strong flavour. The garlic fried rice was second, adding a delicious touch to the meal. It has strong garlicky and burnt texture which is tantalising.
The pho was delightful, with a natural taste and an aromatic broth.
The fresh coconut was also a highlight, offering a sweet and refreshing taste.
I also enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee, it had a nice balance.
Darren our friendly server, he was accommodating and provided recommendations.
Reminiscing our memory of living in Vietnam. 😊I can that almost have the same taste that we used always had in HMCM. The pomelo salad was the best and enjoyed it so much here . Only The square crab spring roll I think the skin is a little bit thick, so even tough it’s crispy but it’s hard to chew . The ambiance of the restaurant is spacious , clean and very nice decorated . Back in Saigon this kind of ambience and decoration you will only get at the hotel restaurant . Overall I’m satisfied
A lovely, cosy spot that serves stellar Vietnamese food at a reasonable price point and within a gorgeous ambience. The grilled chicken rice was perfect; the chicken was fresh and grilled just nicely, not too hard nor too soft. The chicken pho was also very delicious, as the broth was light yet hearty. The food here are all very fresh, and is very good quality, comparable to Vietnam. This place is also Muslim-friendly, as they do not serve pork or alcohol.
Would come back here again.
Although new and with a rather limited menu, Song Ngu was a delight. We were tended to by Annie, and we ordered the red tilapia with tamarind sauce, the pomelo salad and I thought it odd that they did not have any soup on the menu, although they have it on the lunch set! And veg was a tad sparse, too. I was keen on dessert but was advised to consider ordering it later.
But no matter, as at the end of the meal, we both had eaten too much even though we shared a rice between us.
The fish was probably among the best I have come across. The fish was fried and served well filleted. The accompanying sauce was just spectacular. Tangy, sweet and sour and tart at the same time.
The pomelo salad came with little crackers, which I somehow took that it should be eaten together. The crunch was interesting, coupled with the bitter sweet sour of the pomelo pulp and the nuts, which was very good.
Service was very good.
Definitely returning with my friends.
Hidden gem for Vietnamese food.affordable with excellent service. Had crepe pancake ,egg fried rice(putting Uncle Roger to Shame)and sunmer rolls.lastly Vietnamese hot milk coffee ☕. interesting parking system here.drive into a secured lift system .rm5 for three hours.
