1) The Char Kuay Tiao is filled with great wok-hei

3) Chow Kee Wan Tan Mee, Mr Chow is chatty, with interesting back story how he started
4) Well mixed of sauce, and the grilled Char Siew is handled well, with the meat quite tendered

We dropped by this place for an early lunch. They have rice and noodle stalls including char kway teow, wan tan mee, tai chow and more. The char kway teow was tasty although not as dry as I’m used to. The braised rice from the tai chow was good. Coffee was good and strong. It wasn’t so crowded on a weekday so it’s pretty convenient.
This is Wan Tan Mee from SSTWO Kopitiam located at the border before entering Taman Megah. The seller is customer oriented, his name is Chow and speaks fluent English. He allows customisation within his capacity of work. The wan tan mee has lard but I omitted it as a personal preference.
Char Siew has a little fat and sweeter than others. Look at the oven that bakes it, that makes the char siew having the smoky flavour. Overall still happy as I can request for less black coloured noodles.
5 stars for the Wan Tan Mee and cozy atmosphere. The uncle selling the Wan Tan Mee is extremely polite and his cooking clearly has a lot of care and detail put into it given how I consistently return every week. His noodles have a very “premium homely” taste to it; there is ample sauce, the meat is tender and thicker than you would expect and there is even pork lard. It comes in three different sizes but Medium is more than sufficient for most people and at a price of RM9.50, it is extremely difficult not to recommend.
Possibly one of the best wan ton noodles in p.j – sadly this stall has moved on. Used to be great with the roast pork. Generous thick cut portions, great on its own too. And in it’s replacement, this restaurant serves possibly a great bak kut teh. The gravy is a klang variant, so a thick and dark version. Stall is run by the pan mee lady – another worthy mention. Ordered a 2 portion bkt with ribs and lean meat plus sides of tau fu puffs and cruellers to feed myself and 2 kids. They wolfed their lunch down. So did i – as we were stuffed, we headed to the playground after to burn some of it out. Great discovery for me. Latest update is, the bkt stall has moved into a shoplot, a few doors away! Had thai food, which was quite good.
