Had really high expectations of the place based on a recommendation. The place is clean and spacious. Parking was also relatively convenient as there are parking lots in front of the shop – just need to be lucky to find one.
We went for breakfast and ordered rawa tosai, masala tosai, vade and other dishes (sorry, not too sure what they are called). Overall, we enjoyed some dishes but some, not so much. What we liked best was the rawa tosai which was very crispy and yet fluffy at the same time. We felt that the amount of gravy and chutney could be more generous. The vade was pretty average though the size is much bigger than the typical vade we usually buy from street vendors.
An elderly staff who was behind the cashier seemed to have difficulties communicating with me. Not sure if it was his hearing or just me not understanding his accent. Not a big deal.
Overall, we thought the place was pretty average. However, our review was based on breakfast items. We will need to try the other items, especially it’s signature banana leaf rice to be able to have a better idea of the rest of the food.
The service was decent as the staffs gladly accommodated to my requests. I dont eat rice but i enjoy Banana Leaf and they gave me the set without rice and topped up the vege as much as i want without an issue ( Some stalls dont let u keep topping up if you are not eating rice). In terms of the shop i think it is way too dark and slighty warm even when there were not many people in there. In terms of the food i think it can be better but granted i only ate the banana leaf, all the food was cold but they do change their banana leaf menu daily which is good and their Bru Coffee is decent. It is definitely on the pricier side but its also Pj so cant argue much about the price. The toilet is just not for me but if u need to use it you can try. Lunch hour dont expect to find parking.
Wanted to try out a new banana leaf place and was quite disappointed with Uncle Mani’s banana leaf.
We went a little late around 2pm and most of the vegetable dishes were finished. I was served crumbs of one vegetable and papadam.
Service was bad, I empathise with the waiter that was doing everything on this own. A few items were forgotten and took a long time.
Teh tarik was very bland and lukewarm at best.
I might revisit this place for lunch at an earlier time.
Rm 30 mutton briyani? Hardly any meat . It’s so tiny! How expensive is mutton? And yet in this they gave bones! Rice also less! How much profit you guys wana do? I have ordered briyani from many places, i have never got this portion with this price!
Even the chicken portion was less! So less that nobody should order briyani from here & get cheated! Shame on you guys for not serving customers the right portion! This should be called briyani for children briyani!
The banana leaf rice served with four different vegetables and the curry is more to spicy and thick. Overall is quite good, the chicken 65 is quite nice. Price is reasonable to me. But the environment is a bit uncomfortable where they just clean the table by just sweeping all the food debris on the table to the floor. Can see used tissue and food debris around the floor. The air conditioner seems not in order too, but luckily they turn on the fan full blast. I think there are still room for improvement.
