Had a fantastic dim sum experience at Wong Pan Dim Sum in SS2, Petaling Jaya. The food was fresh, flavourful, and served in generous portions—perfect for our group of four. We ordered pork dumplings, shrimp dumplings, emperor glutinous rice, fried carrot cake with XO sauce, yam puffs, fried dumplings with pork, prawn dumplings with salad, and century egg with minced meat porridge.
Everything was well-prepared, and I appreciated that the dishes didn’t leave me feeling thirsty afterward—suggesting no added MSG. A great spot for a satisfying and authentic dim sum feast!
came here for thier chinese new year dinner set instead of their dimsum. we got chicken, ribs, fish, lotus leaf rice, prawn and dessert. the food quality are decent and price are reasonable too. the environment are suitable for gathering as well.
I’ve been craving for dim sum for the past few days. Decided to check out this place based on the reviews.
First off, it’s clean and comfortable. Indoor seatings have A/C so no issues about it being too hot. Shop is open till 5pm too for folks who want dim sum later in the day.
Food arrived quickly after I placed my order. The egg tart was alright, but like another comment said, the pastry is too milky. Personally, I found the filling too little as well.
The char siew pau is pretty yummy. The siu mai is definitely larger than what you’d get at other stores, but taste wise I find it lacking compared to Foo Heng. The chili sauce that was given did not complement the siu mai well. Would’ve preferred kampung kok chili sauce.
All in all, it’s a decent pick for dim sum. I would consider this nicer than Jin Xuan at the very least.
Good dim sum and the portion is reasonable and fair. They also have some special dim sum like Sze Chuan dumpling, tom yum dim sum, special Chee Cheong Fen that worth a try. I appreciate their effort in overall dim sum experience
Overall an average place. Not one I woild purposely recommend or to go out of the way for.
Tastewise – good taste for those looking for the “ching” clean taste. For people with heavy tastebuds may find this place bland. Certain items need to dip into the sauce, some not so. Salted egg custard as a bit too bland. Pro of it, it doesn’t taste laden with MSG as wasn’t thirsty even after 2 hours.
Texture – good bite of siu mai and the crystal skin of hargau was commendable. Fish ball was bouncy too. However the wookok yam was too pasty fine. Lack the crisp bite.
Kopi o was ok. Passable.
Prices standard aircon fare. Average rm10 per item.
